Well, I said I was going to start podcasting on my own site, and here we are! Campea’s Cage is the place where I can rant and rave about movies and life and anything else I want to… so there!
But seriously, I’m glad you decided to join me for my first podcast. In the future I’ll have other people on with me, but I really wanted to do this one solo so I could introduce it, and answer some of the email people have sent to me.
Amongst other things, some of the topics I cover today are:
1) Why do a podcast?
2) Where else can smart phones go now?
3) Sylvester Stallone breaks his neck
4) Spider-Man 4 gets postponed
5) Robocop remake put on hold (for good?)
After all that I take some time to answer some email.
You can directly download the podcast with this link

Wow I’m really happy this happened, your personality was one of the main reasons I loved the Movie Blog so much.
It’s good to know you’ll still be podcasting.
Also I think you need to change the color of this commenting box because I can hardly read what I am typing right now.
The commenting box is good enough. i think there is problem in your Explorer
Wow, you respond fast.
Also, will this podcast ever be on iTunes?
If for some reason you answer this in the podcast then just ignore this.
You ask… we deliver! I’ll be putting up the feed so you can subscribe to it in iTunes or any other podcasting client you use.
Great podcast, looking forward to more!
Ok now that I am at the end of it… Yes I think something live would be great. I have loved experiences I have had so far on UStream and BlogTV so I always think it’s a good idea.
Going live would be a great idea. I would most definitely listen live when ever i had the free time. Every time some friends of mine had a live podcast i always seemed to just miss it by an hour or so.
I think it could be pretty cool live, for some reason a small part of me thinks it would suck but most of me says awesome.
I think you should try it at least once.

Love the podcasts, John. Thanks for answering my question. Oh, and wicked glad you took the theme music from TMB. What is that song if you don’t mind me asking?
The song is called “I Don’t Know” by a Canadian band called Whoosh
loving it too
I’ve missed this. Feels a little weird but I’ll follow you to the end of the interwebs Campea.
I LOVE the idea of a live show. I would really like to have it be pretty small with only a few people. Reminds me of all the fireside chats from back in the glory days of TMB.
Not too big a fan on “live” anything. Expensive and having a pocket of people following you regularly is a great idea – better than anything you’ll get from having the “live” moniker.
– Interviews: Sounds great! Can’t wait to hear them, John!
– What’s Left on Our Mobile Phones? Video: As a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Community Member, how cool would it be to flip open my phone, dial via pictures and then begin using SIGN LANGUAGE through the phone as I hold it in one hand? Your better reception comment is totally valid.
– Spiderman Details: I would like MJ detail when they have an MJ I care about – wrong actress for the role IMO. Raimi needed to go way more towards Horror with Venom. No idea what happened but that’s what would have made a home run out of a balk. Sony will NOT come to their senses (the release date won’t happen) and have a track record of running things into the ground (and they don’t caption any of their trailers pisser).
– SHOVEL of salt with Hobbit: I can’t wait to see more and experience the films, but “confirmed” it ain’t. It’s all liquid at this point but I know that the CONTENT is something some studio wants to be involved with which is what gives it it’s weight.
– Robocop Remake: We’re going to review it as a bonus after 24 gets revving, but I’m not sure where I stand on a remake. I join you in your general irritation on 3D. Let’s let the filmmakers make films rather than issue a bunch of “must haves” from the studio already.
Thanks for the fun and information, John. I’m completely unfamiliar with you but I”m going to return for sure. (listening to questions on podcast but sending note now)
hey john will you be podcasting regularly?
Yes… probably a couple of times a week if people remain interested.
iv got a european shape android htc hero, there might not be too many new things a mobile could do but i think google voice is one main thing you should look into, also
location based services, augmented reality etc is really hot
MORE ranting about mary jane LOL
PS LIVE PLEASE! AT A TIME SUITABLE FOR UK AND USA AGAIN
John, loving the live idea. Reminiscent of the live chats from the live chats from the ole days.
oh sorry, i posted that again by mistake.
@What’s Left on Our Mobile Phones :
i would like to get mobile phone which operates through the brain.
SOURCE: matrix movie
John, nice to hear you back doing the podcasts. I used to look forward to them every week. I would love for you to do a live show, but I work late shifts and would never be able to participate
Also, I forgive you for saying my name wrong when I asked about your movie
I think it would be really cool if you sold it yourself if you are unable to get distribution. Hell, I bought a autographed copy of Second Skin from those fellas when it finally got on disc waited over a year to check that film out.
I like you sites name, but I thought you went with the cage idea because you like UFC so much haha!
Hi John,
Great Podcast, good that you’re back…..a live podcast could be fun but i’d say do whatever will be fun for you
Now that this has moved away from the movie blog(sorry to hear there was a falling out, kinda like a dad and his kid not talking anymore….just unfortunate) Any chance there will be a return of any of the old podcast gang like Doug or Bruxy(I know everybody kinda went their separate ways but a reunion would be fun)
As far as what more can a phone do…..I see 3 things…..all of which are being developed to 1 degree or another…..
1. Phone/PC Dock…..I want my phone to be my PC….to a great degree it already is, but I want to be able to walk into home or work and put the phone on a dock that then connects it to a monitor, keyboard and mouse and probably a desk phone link…..that way it’s all one device that does it all….There is already a handheld PC that will do all of this except the phone portion.
2. projector phone……want to look at your phone on a larger screen, how about having a projector lens on it so you can project onto a wall or screen…..great for presentations or reading excel or pdfs on the phone(even on the Iphone the screens are still small and it’s somewhat hard to read a large spreadsheet)
3. mental interaction(no joke)
I was reading an article the other day on mental interfaces that are being developed for various applications in the medical and military field, there are already toys out that can interact with a brain signal like star wars force Trainer….I think given some time(10 years possibly less) there will be some rudimentary systems to interact with your phone…..think “call John” and your phone will dial their number……think a name and it will find them in the address book, maybe eliminating typing or eventually(probably longer term) the need for touch screens……of course sooner or later this leads to the society from Wall-e
Well, glad you’re back and looking forward to future podcasts and updates.
hey John thanks for answering my ques.
and btw its kalpesh not kaplesh…lol
idk about the live podcast, international ppl might not get a chance due to the huge time difference. but two pods in a week sounds good to me.
And this will be my new movieblog!
Keep up the good work!
Hey John,
can’t find the podcast on itunes. looking for it by searching your name.
where might it be?? thanks for the help, and keep up the good work!
Mat
Hey John I just wanted to say great podcast. But I’m sorry to hear that there was a falling out with you guys at the Movie Blog. I hope everything is ok with you and Rodney. Did you guys patch things up?
