So How Is The New AMC Website Doing? Pretty Good Apparently

So it’s now been a couple of months since we relaunched the brand new AMCEntertainment.Com website that I now work for. With the relaunch came the new movie news blog (that’s my area) and a few other cool new features.

Today I decided to look up how the traffic was doing… and I’ve got to say it’s doing pretty well.

I compared the traffic to two of my favorite and most popular film sites out there… ComingSoon.Net and Slashfilm.

And well… you can see the results:

We haven’t even started the marketing for the site yet or made any official announcement about it other than a few posters in AMC movie theaters… like the one below:

So yes… I’d say we’re off to a good start. Thank you so much to those of you who have been checking us out. As always, please send me your suggestions for the new site if you ever have any.

You took a lot of readers with you from TMB John.. congrats!! I have definitely checked out the site more than a few times and it looks great!

Wow! Congrats. I’m a huge fan–been following you for almost two years. I trust your reviews and look over them before watching a movie-I haven’t been disappointed yet.

Wow… thanks Gio (as a side note… my real name is Giovanni). That means a lot to me to hear.

Giovanni??? Please please start going by that John , haha

Isn’t John your middle name, according to your wiki?

You say “real” as if you made John up randomly one day :P

I’ll second Gio comments too, you’ve saved me from watching some stinkers that were marketed well

I’m Italian… Giovanni is translated into John. So essentially John is my real name.

Wow John, congrats!

I like how you’ve deliberately left off the left-hand side of the graph so we’ve no idea how many actual visitors you get.

Actually Chance, I just cropped the graphic so it would fit. No… seriously.

yeah, what is the Y-AXIS John, if I did that at University I’d be told the graph had no meaning.

Also it’s just amcentertainment.com so would I be wrong in saying a good whack of that traffic would just be people looking for tickets? Because those are some big sites you seem to have tripled in 3 months. How much of this is script to screen? I’m sure you are doing well but comingsoon.net well? Kudos if so.

Hey Adox,

The only “meaning” of the graphic is that we’ve had a pretty good re-launch.

I’d say the vast majority of the success has to do with the huge brand name we have. The movie news blog is just a part of the overall site.

SWEET, as u know i’m in the uk so i dunno anything about AMC.

Just keep refreshing amcenterntainment.com though John, just kidding… (Do you have the saying in Canada “Cruising for a Bruising”?)
