Tiger Woods Doesn’t Owe Anyone A Frigging Apology

I’m so sick and tired of how the sports media has handled this whole damn Tiger Woods situation. I rant about it here:

It’s horrible how the media finds it necessary to invade every aspect of a public figure’s private life. For sheer entertainment no less. It sickens me. And to have the audacity to even suggest that Tiger (or anyone) needs to apologize for the way he lives his life (gracefully or not) to people who have no part in it is just awful.
Good rant, John.

Interesting, though I’m sure the reason he’s apologizing is probably so he can get some more big sponsorships and stuff.

Oh and By the way, How’s your weight coming? I realized that you haven’t posted about it in a while. I hope you’re still staying healthy.

He only owes his wife, children, and family… not anyone else.

Devils advocate.

Tiger Woods has made a billion dollars off of sponsorships. Part of the reason he got those sponsorships is so those companies wanted a good athlete and a role model to endorse their products. So when he does something like cheating on his wife, he at the very least owes his sponsors a apology.

Also he signed the contracts that said they could use him as a role model to endorse whatever products. They sold it to the kids. If you are going to sell that image to kids, then you should live up to it.

Do I think kids should look up to athletes? No and I wouldn’t raise my kids to, but if that’s what you are selling, then you should try to be true to it. And if you fail to, you should be sorry for your actions.

american media seems more crazy to me the more i hear about it.

i agree he doesn’t OWE any of us an apology, the one way i can see it from the other point of view is that if you are going to accept the limelight, the money, the sponsorship stuff, nike gilette etc then you are sort of accepting to be a role model in a way etc etc but even that is a stretch
